Syd Harris will not be organising another Yorkshire Festival of Music for Yorkshire Cancer Research. At the Yorkshire Festival of Music less than forty per cent of the participants were from Yorkshire choirs. Therefore he has decided to organise a Festival of Brass & Voices, which will be held in the Royal Albert Hall, London, on November 4th 2006. The whole of the proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.

Hartlepol Male Voice Choir took to the road to sing its heart out in Germany. The Choir set out for Germany, where it would spend three days with a choir in Huckelhoven. The Choir has a good relationship with their counterparts in Huckelhoven, which was twinned with Hartlepool in 1973.
